BRIEF SUMMARY ABOUT THE SUBJECT ICT THAT WE HAVE STUDIED DURING THE SEMESTER.
Below is the brief summery of what I learned through the subject of ICT in my first semester
The first semester of the ICT course is an introductory course that covers a range of topics related to information and communication technology. The course covers fundamental topics such as computer hardware and software, programming, computer networks, and data storage. In addition, the course also includes more practical aspects such as creating a blog, communication tools, and using MS Word and MS Excel for document creation and data analysis.
The introduction to IT and computer hardware and software provides us students with a basic understanding of the principles behind computer systems and how they work. The introduction and history of computers explores the development of computers over time, providing insight into the evolution of technology. The course also provided us with a clear view of different types of computers, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, and their specific use cases.
The course also introduced us to practice through creating a blog. We learn how to use different features to design a blog and publish it on the internet. We also learn about computer viruses and how to prevent them, which is an essential skill in today's technology-dependent world.
The data storage section of the course covers different storage types, such as hard disks, solid-state drives and the advantages and disadvantages of each. The course also introduced us students to computer networks and how they work, including the different types of networks and their components.
The section on MS Word taught students how to create professional-looking documents, including formatting, editing, and using tables. In the MS Excel section, we learnt how to use spreadsheets to organize and analyze data, including formulas, functions, and chart creation. We also learnt how to create workbooks and work with multiple sheets within a workbook.
The learning outcomes of the first semester of ICT will help us in our future professional careers and lives. The course provides a solid foundation in the fundamentals of computer systems and how to utilize it in daily life, which is essential in the modern workplace.
